Covid 19 Update

Dear Club members,

  March 15, 2020

The Alliston Gymnastics Club will be continuing with all scheduled competitive training programs for Provincial Levels 3-9. Gymnastics Ontario has made the decision to cancel and or postpone all sanctioned competitions through to April 5th and will update us if there are further cancellations.

The club has decided to cancel scheduled training for the following groups:

- Level 1 and 2 team

- The 6, 10, 16, and 20-hour pre-competitive teams.  

Additional precautionary measures being taken by the club are as follows:

  •  Only 2 teams will be allowed to train in the facilities together during their block of time
  •  Parents are requested not to enter the facilities. Please drop your child off at the door, when they enter, they must remove their outerwear and follow the sanitization protocol before leaving the foyer area.
  •  If the athlete or someone in their immediate family show symptoms of illness, we ask that you keep your daughter at home until they are fully recovered, plus an additional 14 days afterward.
  •  If any athlete or their immediate family have traveled recently to another country, we require that they do not come to the facilities of the Alliston Gymnastics Club for a period of at least 14 days.

We are monitoring the situation daily for any changes to the COVID-19 situation, and updates will be provided to our competitive membership should anything change regarding the club programs.

Entry into any competitive programs are by tryouts or by recommendation from Senior coaching staff only. Tryouts for competitive teams are now ongoing. Please contact the gym to schedule your tryout at (705) 435-5294 or email Paula at

Pre Competitive Prep - Ages 4-5 years

Introduction to competitive elements for the Ontario Development Program (ODP) Athletes do not compete in this program. This is a beginner group that is getting prepared for competition. Ages 4 & 5. This is a 10 month, 4-5hr a week commitment.

6 hr Pre Competitive Programs

Working on creating a strong gymnastics foundation with emphasis on Strength, flexibility and body awareness.

Athletes will compete at 1 (ODP) meet. Recommended age 6. This is a 10 month, 6 hrs a week commitment. 

10 hr Pre Competitive Program

This is for athletes that show a keen gymnastics attitude with athletic qualities such as strength, Flexibility and co-ordination.  Athletes will compete at 1-2 O.D.P meets . This is a 12 month, 10 hrs a week commitment.


This is an advanced program that is selected by the Head Coach, with continued emphasis on strength and Flexibility in order to achieve more advanced skills.  Athletes will compete at 2-3 O.D.P meets . This is a 12 month, 16-20 hrs a week commitment. 

Invitational Compulsory Level 1 & 2

This introduction to competition is fun and encourages positive participation. In these levels athletes compete at 1-2 invitational competitions only. This is a 10-12 month, 7-10hr a week commitment. Ages 7+

Provincial Competitive Gymnastics

All Provincial level athletes Level 3-9 compete at 3 provincial qualifying competitions with an opportunity to qualify for our Ontario championships. These programs are a 12 month commitment.

Provincial Compulsory Level 3-5

In this program athletes are trying to master the Junior Olympic (J.O) compulsory program paying close attention to detail and building a good gymnastics foundation. Athletes in these levels train 12-16hr/ week. Age 9+

Provincial Levels 6-9

In this program athletes have an opportunity to work on optional routines and choreography with continued emphasis on strength and flexibility in order to achieve more advanced skills. Athletes in these levels train 18-25hr/week. Age 9+

National/Elite Program

This program is very intense mentally and physically. Becoming a National or Elite gymnast requires a huge commitment from the athlete as well as the whole family. Athletes in this program train 26+ hr/week.
